NYSP warn of scam texts impersonating NY toll services

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are warning of a scam involving E-ZPass. The scam texts ask for an unpaid toll invoice to be settled or they'll charge an extra $150.

Troopers said E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail will never send anyone an email or text requesting sensitive personal information such as credit card numbers or users' names and passwords.

If you get one of these texts, just delete it and block the number.
