Opelousas man killed in crash in Ascension Parish

ASCENSION PARISH, La. (KLFY) - An Opelousas man was killed early morning morning in an accident in Ascension Parish. The two vehicle crash happened on LA 70. 22-year-old Jayden Lazard of Opelousas was killed.

Authorities say the car Lazard was driving crossed the center line and collided with a tractor trailer head-on. State Troopers say Lazard, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. He later died at a hospital. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

This crash remains under investigation.
