Brooklyn man faces murder charges after allegedly killing 4 relatives, including two kids
BENSONHURST, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- The man accused of killing four family members, including two children, in a bloody rampage stuffed the two kids in garbage bags and hid them in the closet, prosecutors said.
Shahboz Rajabboev, 24, allegedly killed his mother, sister-in-law, 5-year-old niece, and 4-year-old nephew in the apartment on West Eighth Street near Avenue P in Brooklyn at around 9 p.m. Friday, according to court records.
Rajabboev lived with the victim and was arrested at the scene, police said. He was arraigned Sunday on four counts of murder.
A relative saw Rajabboev leaving the home with blood on his face before finding his family members dead in different parts of the house, authorities said.
Fayzieva Mavlyuda, 56, was found on the floor with multiple stab wounds to the neck and body, and Maftuna Khakimova, 27, was wrapped in a blanket in a garbage bag, according to the complaint.
Rajabboev allegedly strangled Khakimova and her two children, Timur Shavkatov, 4, and Kamila Shavkatova, 5, prosecutors said. The kids were found stuffed in garbage bags in a closet, according to court records.
None of the victims were still breathing when authorities arrived at the scene. It was unclear what provoked the attack.
Neighbors said the family was originally from Uzbekistan and had lived in the building for years. One of the distraught neighbors, Jennifer Ponti, was still reeling after seeing officers remove body bags from the apartment.
“It’s sad. It’s horrible. Babies shouldn’t die no matter what," Ponti told PIX11 News on Saturday.
The suspect pled not guilty at his arraignment and is being held without bail. His attorney could not immediately be reached Monday.
