Nifty ends below 24,550; Sensex drops 102 pts; VIX jumps 4%

As per provisional closing, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was down 102.57 points or 0.13% to 80,521.74. The Nifty 50 index shed 21.65 points or 0.09% to 24,509.25.
