Bengaluru court asks hospital and doctors to pay Rs 5 lakh for leaving needle in woman's spine
The patient, 46-year-old Padmavathi, underwent severe abdominal pain, backache, and trauma for over six years until she had the needle removed at a separate hospital, the TOI report noted. The Karnataka State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed Deepak Hospital and the doctors responsible for the 2004 botched surgery Rs 50,000 as litigation cost.
