Red Sox Vs. Dodgers Lineups: Boston Has New Leadoff Hitter
The Boston Red Sox will look to find their first win out of the All-Star break against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday at Dodgers Stadium.
The Red Sox opted to swap Dominic Smith out for Masataka Yoshida and David Hamilton to have different left-handed bats in the lineup. Boston has four left-handed hitters, with Yoshida and Hamilton joining Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers.
Romy Gonzalez will lead off, and Jarren Duran will hit behind him. The Red Sox originally had Rob Refsnyder as the leadoff hitter but took him out of the lineup at the last minute.
For the Dodgers, Will Smith is getting rewarded for his late-game heroics with a day off. With the move, manager Dave Roberts shuffled his lineup around. Austin Barnes will replace Smith at catcher, batting ninth. Kiké Hernández will also be in the lineup after his big day on Saturday.
The Red Sox and Dodgers are set to take the field at 7:10 p.m. ET on ESPN. We’ve got the projected lineups here.
