Watch never-before-seen moment PHYSIO gets red card in top-flight clash and leaves fans in disbelief
FOOTBALL fans were left stunned as a PHYSIO was sent off.
The shocking sight came in a Norwegian top flight clash between Sarpsborg and Brann.
At 0-0 with five minutes left on the clock, a Sarpsborg player went down with what looked like cramp.
Physio Joao Ferreira ran onto the pitch to treat him and was booked as he went past the referee because he did not wait for permission.
Ferreira yelled something at the official without slowing his pace and was promptly given a second yellow.
He threw his hand up in anger and walked towards the referee before being stopped by several players and trudging off the pitch.
One fan posted on X: “Never seen anything like this.”
Another added: “Ref has a clownmaster degree.”
Stunned viewers were left asking what would happen if another player went down injured.
Hosts Sarpsborg took a late lead through Henrik Wendel Meister.

But Brann hit back through Aune Heggebo in the 94th minute to earn a draw.
Sarpsborg currently sit 13th in the league – one place above a relegation play-off – having played 15 matches.
Brann are second – six points behind Bodo/ Glimt, who have a game in hand.
Another viral clip on social media saw Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany laying down the law.
A training video showed the Belgian putting his stars through their paces.
Midfielder Leon Goretska tried to play the ball through the defence but his underhit effort was intercepted.
Kompany immediately stopped the session, presumably to reprimand the playmaker.
And fans were loving the fact he was insisting on high standards.
