Child, 7, dead after being pulled from swimming pool on Long Island

BAY SHORE (PIX11) – A child was pulled unresponsive from a swimming pool in Bay Shore Saturday evening, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. 

The 7-year-old was found at a residence on North Thompson Drive around 8:25 p.m., police said. The child, who is from Brooklyn, was rushed to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, police said. 

Officials said the Homicide Squad is investigating the incident.
