Liv Johnston, a toddler mum from the UK who recently revealed that she lets her two-year-old daughter stay up until 10pm watching movies shared her top tips that will ensure you have the most fun and save lots of cash when you next go on a Haven holiday.

Posting on social media, Liv said: “‘I don’t know why anybody likes caravan holidays’, is something I used to say before we went on our first caravan holiday.

“So if you are going to Haven soon, here are some of my top tips while you’re there.”

Liv explained that firstly, you need to “download the Haven app”.

She advised: “Here you can book all of your activities in advance, you get your own cute little countdown and realistically, this is the place that you will find all of the information for your holiday.”

Secondly, Liv stressed the importance of taking “advantage of the free activities”.

She added: “I spent quite a lot on activities last time and to be honest, the cheaper activities or the free activities were probably our favourites.

“Some that I recommend that are free or very cheap are the sand art, the golf or the swimming.”

In addition to this, Liv explained that to save time and faff, you can get your food shopping delivered directly to your caravan door.

She continued: “This is something that we learnt after our first trip, and we will be using on our second trip, but that is to get a supermarket delivery to your caravan.

“Our plan was to actually fill the car and bring all the shopping down with us, but that’s going to take up so much room in the car, so it makes sense to just get it delivered right to your caravan door.”

Following on from this, this savvy mum explained that Haven visitors should also “take advantage of the surrounding areas.”

Tips for a stress-free holiday with kids

PARENTS have been told the three ways in which they can make family holidays with kids so much easier.

Three experts have weighed in with their advice on what to do in order to make your getaways as stress-free as possible.

Family holidays are always exciting but having kids of a certain age can mean that things are more difficult than they need to be.

Thanks to Travel Weekly, here are three ways that those with young toddlers can have the best holiday possible.

Clarisse Chapolard, who is responsible for overseeing and caring for Club Med’s customers, says that booking off-peak flights ensures a quieter plane and airport – providing a more comfortable experience.

“Staff will generally be more available to help too,” she adds. “Flights can be the biggest headache with small children, so travel short-haul where possible.”

Clarisse also recommends making sure there are activities nearby to your accommodation to keep toddlers happy.

Having a child-friendly hotel can make the world of difference to your family holiday, especially when parents are looking for some time to themselves.

Founder and chief executive of Martinhal Resorts, Chitra Stern, said: “Accommodation needs to be child-friendly and safe, but also stylish and comfortable for parents.”

Finding somewhere with bed protectors, stair gates, steps in the bathrooms and furniture with round edges will prevent any unnecessary injuries or accidents.

Alan Cross, director of travel agent relationships for Jet2holidays, has recommended parents to look at package holidays for peace of mind, ease and assurance.

“Families with toddlers may appreciate dedicated facilities like kids’ clubs, children’s pools, creches, playgrounds, cots and highchairs,” he said.

Package deals can also include free child places, single-parent deals and discount codes, catering for more than a standard family of four.

Liv shared: “While there is so much to do on site, there is also a lot of stuff that you can do off site, and this is definitely something we’re gonna take advantage of in September as we don’t actually have a lot of activities booked.”

Finally, to ensure that your trip is as fun-filled as possible, Liv recommended: “And the last tip is if you do want to do activities, please book them in advance.”

Five ways to keep your kids cool in the heat

IT can be really difficult - and costly - to keep kids cool when it's hot outside. But Fabulous Digital Senior Reporter and mum-of-two Sarah Bull shares five ways to help, and they won't break the budget either.

Strip them off

It might sound simple, but stripping kids off at home can really help them regulate their temperature when it’s warm outside. Just remember to regularly apply suncream, as more of their skin will be exposed to the sun.

Cool down bedrooms before nighttime

When it’s hot outside, it can be difficult for kids to go to sleep – especially if their bedroom feels like an oven. If you have a room that’s not in direct sunshine, keep the windows open to let in a breeze. It’s also a good idea to keep the curtains closed, to prevent the room from heating up.

Wear a hat

Another simple technique, but one that really works. Make sure that if your kids are playing outside, they’ve got a hat on. It keeps their face and head shielded from the sun, and also helps if you’ve got a little one who struggles with bright sunlight. If your tot struggles to keep a hat on, try one with a strap that goes under the chin to help.

Avoid the car

The car can be one of the hottest places during a heatwave, and often takes a long time to cool down. If you have the option, it’s better to stay at home rather than taking kids out anywhere in a hot car.

Stay hydrated

This is always important, but even more so in a heatwave. Make sure you’re regularly reminding your kids to have a drink, and top them up with cool liquids whenever you can. Use ice too to ensure it’s as cold as it can possibly be.

Another added: “Love a Haven holiday!”

A third commented: “[From] someone who works and lived at a holiday caravan park…defo worth getting Uber Eats from outside the park.

“We had Papa Johns on ours and it was double the price of the one down the road.”
