ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - In Colonie, twin sisters, Sydnie and Faith Snyder, celebrated their graduation from Colonie Central School District. The sisters, however, still reminisce about their prom night in June, where the duo had an extraordinarily special night.

Sydnie wanted to make her sister's experience at prom unforgettable and do something memorable for her sister before she goes off to college. Sydnie decided to work with her class to surprise Faith with being crowned prom queen. Sydnie said she told her friends her idea, but the plan spread to others in the class, and on prom night, everyone decided to give the title to Faith.

"My class was so amazing they decided that this is what they wanted to happen at their senior prom, which was Faith winning," Sydnie said. "There was people that decided to not run, in order for it to 100 percent happen and know that it is happening."

Faith has special needs and has always thought being prom queen was special, so Sydnie worked together with her class to surprise Faith at the big dance.

To keep their plan a secret, the high school class voted for Sydnie and her date, knowing that if Sydnie won, Faith would be given the crown by her sister.

Sydnie said that the support of her classmates on prom night is indicative of how they've treated Faith throughout their time at school, always supportive. Faith's life skills teacher said it was priceless to know Faith had the true prom experience.

"It was a typical prom for her and she was a typical child and that is what it was meant to be," Thompson said. "Her father made a really great point when she left, he said I want you to experience everything."

Faith recounts being pulled off of the dance floor and into the line of potential prom queens. She threw her hands up in victory as she was named the queen.

"It felt exciting because it felt like everything I have ever wanted," Faith said.
