AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin Fire Department put out a house fire on the south side of Austin Saturday evening, according to a social media post from the agency.
AFD said that the fire blew through the roof of a home in the 7200 block of Whispering Oaks. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said it transported an adult male to an area hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, according to the agency's social media.
APD says the fire was accidental and caused heavy damage that will leave the resident displaced. Crews stayed at the scene after the fire was put out in order to monitor for hot spots.
