Watch Bruno Silva uppercut send Cody Durden’s mouthpiece flying in UFC Vegas 94 knockout
Bruno Silva’s hands weren’t the only things that were flying at UFC Vegas 94.
“Bulldog” authored an impressive comeback Saturday at UFC APEX, bludgeoning Cody Durden with punches to score a second-round knockout. During his fight-ending flurry, a ferocious Silva uppercut sent Durden’s mouthpiece flying into the cage wall.

It was a much-needed burst of offense for Silva, who was down on the scorecards after a grueling opening round. The larger Durden put plenty of pressure on Silva throughout the fight, landing good punches and attacking with submissions when he was able to ground the Brazilian.
But Silva just needed one opening to let his hands go and he found Durden’s chin with a cracking uppercut. A now-mouthpiece-free Durden dropped to to the mat, Silva bearing down on him with ground-and-pound. Several unanswered punches later, referee Chris Tognoni waved the bout off.
The official time of the stoppage was 2:58 into Round 2.
That’s four straight wins now for Silva (14-5-2), all by knockout or submission. Silva has only fought four times in three years and is poised to crack the top-15 if he can stay active.
Durden (16-6-1) has now lost two straight. This past December, he saw a four-fight win streak snapped when he lost via second-round submission to Tagir Ulanbekov.
