High-level inter-ministerial central team assess areas damaged due to floods in Assam

An Inter-ministerial Central Team, led by Mihir Kumar, assessed flood damages in Assam from July 18-20, visiting Dibrugarh, Majuli, Dhemaji, and Lakhimpur. In a meeting chaired by Ajay Tiwari, ASDMA's Gyandendra Dev Tripathi requested declaring 2004 floods as severe and Rs 500 crore from NDRF. Cyclone Remal caused severe agricultural inundation.
