Data: Austin unemployment rate increases in June

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The unemployment rate in the Austin-Round Rock metro increased slightly from May 2024 to June 2024, according to Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) data.
TWC said the unemployment rate in the metro was now at 3.8%, with 56,143 unemployed residents.
According to the data, the Austin metro unemployment rate was below the Texas (4.5%) and national rate (4.3%) in June, and from May to June, the Austin metro gained 4,900 jobs.
May to June job growth:

May to June job losses:
- Professional business services (-1,100)
