‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Untucked’ season 6 episode 11 recap: ‘Grand Finale Variety Extravaganza: Part 1’

“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” continued its 9th season on Friday, July 19 with the 11th episode featuring returning queens from seasons past. In the sister series “Untucked,” now in its 6th “All Stars” season, the queens throw back a cocktail and dish the dirt backstage on the latest challenge. This week RuPaul Charles kicked off finale week with “Part 1,” introducing a “Variety Extravaganza” talent show worth three Beautiful Benefactress Badges, meaning anyone could still earn a place in the final three. But before getting to that point, the queens competed in a mini challenge where they transformed crew members into Ru girls in 30 minutes. It was those queens that first entered the Untucked Lounge this week without their new moms.

Shortly in to their kiki, Ts Madison joined them to ask them about their experiences. Venus Tiara, Plastique Tiara‘s daughter, was amazed by how glamorous her transformation was and Ts was able to correctly identify the queen that Angeria Paris VanMichaels worked with. Gottmoss said they were surprised by how quickly Gottmik was able to help gain confidence.

Later, the crew member queens shared their favorite memories from being on set. A few described how nervous they were to be around Ru, but they quickly realized how supportive he is and friendly for being one of the main producers on set. Ts added that Ru has “been a beacon” in the community for so long and that’s why she keeps coming back o work with him and the show. She sees the show as a “place of education” and that makes it important. At that point, one crew member volleyed the thanks back to Ts for her own presence on the show and in the community and how much of an inspiration she is as well. Overall, the experience of the mini challenge showed the crew how much of a piece of change they are, all in the spirit of giving back this season.
