Bunkie man killed in early morning Avoyelles Parish crash
AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – A Bunkie man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish early this morning, authorities said.
This crash claimed the life of 62-year-old Joseph McGee of Bunkie.
Louisiana State Police Troop E responded at approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday to a crash on Dewey Bernard Road near La. 115. Investigators said a 2010 Jaguar, driven by McGee, was westbound on Dewey Bernard Road. For reasons still under investigation, McGee left the road, traveled down the ditch embankment and overturned. As a result, McGee was ejected from the vehicle.
McGee was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
