Sandbags available in Iberia Parish ahead of expected weekend rain

NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- Iberia Parish residents who need them have sandbags available to shore up their property against possible flooding, officials said.
Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has announced that, due to the potential of rain in the next several days, sand and bags are available at the following locations in the parish:
- B.O.M Fire Station
- Grand Marais Fire Station
- Coteau Fire Station
- Delcambre water tower
- Loreauville City Park
- Lydia Fire Station
- Jeanerette Fire Department
- Rynella Fire Department
Shovels will not be provided and residents should be prepared to fill their own sandbags.
KLFY Meteorologist Chris Cozart said scattered storms are expected to continue throughout the weekend.
