Nineties pop legend, 55, ‘barely ages’ three decades after top ten hits, working with Kylie and writing TV theme song
A POP legend from the Nineties has shocked fans with her ‘age-defying’ appearance.
Looking far younger than her 55 years, Cathy Dennis – the multi-award winning songstress and ‘pop industry’s secret weapon’ – recently won accolades from her fans for her ‘glowing’ appearance.
The singer, songwriter and record producer was discovered as a teenager by music manager, Simon Fuller.
Describing herself on her Instagram account as: “Born in-between fields of pigs and beets in Norfolk,” it was more beats she became known for, after first featuring on the hit dance single ‘C’mon and Get My Love’ with D Mob in 1989.
Since then her extensive discography has included her albums Move to This in 1990, Into the Skyline in 1992 and Am I the Kinda Girl in 1996.
In 2000 she pivoted into songwriting, penning memorable lyrics for some of pop’s biggest names.
Responsible for writing Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Sugababes’ About You Now and Celine Dion’s Reveal. She also co-wrote the Pop Idol and American Idol theme tunes.
Perhaps one of her greatest successes, however, was her Katy Perry hit in 2008.
Titled ‘I Kissed a Girl’, the controversial ‘bi-curious’ tune ranks among one of the best-selling digital singles in history and has been credited with increasing LGBT awareness in pop music.
She co-wrote eight US Top 10 singles and 17 UK Top 10 hits, alongside awards including Ivors and Grammys.
But her latest accolades have been more about her appearance, with many fans flocking to her Instagram to say she looked amazing.
With fans commenting she looked ‘sensational’, one wrote: “Man you are still just as beautiful as in 1999! Wow!” while another said: “How is she still this fine.”
