Autopsy to determine Latvian’s cause of death

An autopsy on Saturday is expected to shed light on the exact cause of death of 36-year-old Romans Cvetkovs from Latvia, who was killed in an accident in Ayia Napa on July 17.

A police spokesman said Cvetkovs, a permanent resident of Ayia Napa, was riding his motorcycle when he swerved off the road, hit a tree and then a house fence in the coastal resort.

Cvetkovs was taken to Famagusta general hospital, where he died at 1am on July 18.

It is still not clear if he was wearing the helmet that was found at the scene of the accident.
