Two NY state prisons holding nearly 1K inmates to close later this year — sparking outrage

The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Thursday says it’s closing the Great Meadow Correctional facility in Washington County and Sullivan Correctional Facility in Sullivan County – both maximum security prisons – on Nov. 6.
