Pat's Fisherman's Wharf in Henderson reopens after being damaged by tornado
HENDERSON, La. (KLFY)-- Pat's Fisherman's Wharf is reopening their doors to the public after sustaining major damage from a tornado back in May.
"It was a rough experience," Jude Huval, Pat's owner, said. "I don't wish that anybody ever has to go through anything like that. That was a tough thing man."
The porch outside of the restaurant was completely blown away by the storms. The roofs at the hotel as well as the Atchafalaya Club also received extensive damage. After two months of closure, they are finally back in business.
Huval said he is excited to see all of his valued customer's faces.
"There's people they've been coming here and they're parents and grandparents have been coming here for a long time like I said 75 years," Huval said. "We're fortunate thank you lord, when we open up, we're going to have some fresh seafood, we're going to have our live music rolling again."
Despite the challenges he and his staff have faced since the tornado, Huval said he is optimistic and looks forward to creating more memories in the future.
Pat's is scheduled to reopen next Monday.
