Albany Police issues advisory on emptying of propane rail car
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department announced that on Thursday afternoon, Global Partners on Erie Boulevard will be discharging a rail car filled with propane. Police say the emptying method involves the use of a device that will ignite the propane, resulting in large flames being produced.
The fire will likely be visible to residents in the area, as well as drivers on I-787 and I-90. The process is expected to take around 30 hours and should be completed by 8 p.m. on Friday.
