I thought my huge eyelash extensions were great – but after my epic glow-down I realised I was a ‘lash blind fool’
A YOUNG woman has revealed that she thought she looked good with eyelash extensions, but has now ditched them for good.
When it comes to beauty trends, they tend to come and go, and while many of us were once obsessed with long, fluttery lashes, it appears that the tide is changing once again.
In a recent trend, we are seeing more women ditch large eyelash extensions and heavy make-up, in a bid to embrace their natural beauty.
And now fake lashes are out and the clean girl aesthetic is in, Blankita Cisneros, a beauty lover and fitness fan, decided to switch up her look with a ‘glow-down’, and many say it’s for the better.
The ‘clean girl aesthetic’ trend is rooted in the idea of ‘less is more’.
It promotes enhancing natural beauty rather than covering it up and to achieve the look, women are opting to embrace dewy skin instead of full coverage matte foundations, ditching the heavy lashes and going for a skincare-first approach.
And it appears that Blankita has taken inspiration from it, as she has ditched her fake lashes and opted for a more natural look.
Posting on social media, the fashionista left her followers open-mouthed when she shared before and after pictures of her ‘glow-down’.
At the start of her short clip, Blankita shared a video of her, with just a light flick of mascara on her natural lashes.
Clearly a natural stunner, with a face of very light make-up, she laughed as she mimed along to an audio that said ‘I remember when I lost my mind.’
Shortly after, the owner of Athena Fitness Club, a private members all-women training facility, then shared a snap of her at the gym, prior to her ‘glow-down’.
Blankita donned a full set of huge, black fake eyelashes, with her eyelids barely visible.
Alongside the snap, Blankita put skull emojis, as she wrote: “I am convinced no one suffered from lash extension blindness more than me.”
She then added: “Girl ain’t no way I was walking around like that.”
What is a 'glow-down'?
WE'VE all heard of a glow-up, but what is a glow-down?
A glow-down, similar to the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ trend, is rooted in the idea of ‘less is more’.
It promotes enhancing natural beauty rather than covering it up.
With a glow-down, out are the hair extensions, fake nails and eyelash extensions.
To achieve a glow-down, women begin to ditch the fake beauty trends and opt for a natural, skincare-first approach.
The brunette beauty later wrote: “I was a dang fool.”
We think that Blankita looks stunning with and without her eyelash extensions, but her latest ‘glow-down’ meant her natural beauty was really shining through.
SOCIAL MEDIA USERS REACT
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @blankitacisneros, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has since amassed a jaw-dropping 2.2 million views.
Social media users were gobsmacked at Blankita’s lashes and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “I don’t know how lash techs allow this to happen, honestly.”
Another added: “Omg so glad you woke up sis.”
Four ways to give yourself a glowdown
Thick fluffly lashes are out, so is the fake tan and long nails...here's how to have the ultimate glow-down in four steps...
The term “glow-down” refers to a woman removing what once was the most popular beauty choices, for a more natural look.
Eyelash extensions – Thick, bold “Russian lashes” used to be all the rage, but nowadays, girls are opt for subtle, individual eyelash extensions to lengthen what they already have.
Nails – Gone are the long, plastic talons, more women are favouring BIAB or gel manis.
Hair colour – Remember when everyone wanted icy white hair? Not anymore! Millions of women are trying to go back to their roots (literally), and have soft blondes, and warm gold tones added to their hair, in a bid to achieve the “old money blonde” look.
Makeup – Sculpting your face shape through the art of contouring is no more. Ladies are adding freckles and sweeping blush across cheekbones instead.
A third commented: “Why didn’t your friends tell you?”
Whilst someone else penned: “At least you’re healed now!”
At the same time, another beauty fan wrote: “Literally less is more.”

Meanwhile, one woman admitted: “My lash tech left me like this once, I cried!!! Never went back.”
To this, Blankita then replied and wrote: “Honestly this was the beginning of the end for me.”
Whilst one user questioned: “How did you grow them back?”
Blankita responded and confirmed: “I literally just left them alone. No extensions since last August!!”
