Delhi's city administrators fixated on cultivating the flower despite its short blooming period in Delhi’s semi-arid climate. The Delhi Parks and Garden Society has imported 650,000 bulbs from Europe over two years and plans to acquire 300,000 more for parks and residents’ associations.
