ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local education and job training center received a financial boost on Wednesday. The Social Enterprise and Training Center (SEAT) received $100,000 in this year's state budget.

Their Schenectady program helps young adults earn their GEDs and gain work experience. They now have a center in Albany. The goal is to give students both the skills and the confidence they need to succeed.

"They're proving to themselves that they can show up on time, be here every day, take the most of the opportunity," SEAT CEO and founder Jennifer Lawrence said. "So we say take the opportunity of a lifetime, in the lifetime of opportunity, and they're doing it."

The center's career programs include culinary arts, construction and film.
