Katherine Ryan reveals she nearly ‘broke co-star’s neck’ in horror kitchen accident as she joins hit ITV cooking show
KATHERINE Ryan has warned Cooking With The Stars fans they need to prepare for the longest list of mishaps in the kitchen yet.
The comedian joins the celebrity line-up this summer on the ITV show – which sees the stars learn from Michelin star chefs in the kitchen.

Katherine teased: “I spilled flour and oil all over the floor, and Jack Stein fell on it and nearly broke his neck.
“I got some slice-proof gloves and I cut through those.
“I also over-boiled my sauté potatoes so they turned into mash – ruined. I tend to overcook things, and I’m bad with volume – I’m a really terrible cook.
“Everything I’ve done has been a disaster – I just don’t have the tips, tricks, and hacks to be put together delicious flavours, or take the time to make things.”
She added: “Even the best chef can make an unfortunate mistake or a miscalculation, and that’s what’s so exciting about cooking.
“With planning and meticulous practice you could singe something or you could rush and forget an ingredient.”
Katherine joins the likes of comedian Christopher Biggins, Countdown’s Carol Vorderman and Paralympian Ellie Simmonds on the show.
But despite her disasters with cooking, it hasn’t put her co-star Pasha Kovalev off from wanting to dance with her, should she ever sign up to Strictly Come Dancing.
He said: “Katherine looks like she’s got it going on, and her posture is great – and she is willing to put in the work.”
The dancer also joked that appearing on the series was more stressful than taking to the BBC One dance floor.
Pasha added: “They are very different, but at least on Strictly the pressure ends after a minute and a half!
“Either way, on this show, the pressure lasts for an hour at least and so many things can go wrong or if you are lucky they can go right! It is a lot of pressure.”
Cooking With the Stars airs on ITV1 and ITVX next month.
