Former basketball stars coming to Portland for Big 3 matchups
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The three-on-three basketball league founded by the multi-talented rapper Ice Cube returns to Portland July 20.
The Big 3 matchups will feature many retired NBA and WNBA stars and other notable role players that made impacts on the league throughout the years. The unique, half-court games will take place at the Moda Center on July 20 at 4 p.m.
Some of the biggest names coming to Portland to play in the Big 3 showcase include Joe Johnson, Stephen Jackson, Rashard Lewis, Jason Richardson, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson. Notable Big 3 coaches include Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Gary Payton, Nancy Lieberman, Lisa Leslie and Nick Young.
The Big 3 event coincides with Ice Cube’s appearance at the Summer Jam hip-hop concert coming to the Moda Center on July 19. The concert features Ice Cube, E-40, MYA, Xzibit, Ginuwine and The Luniz. Tickets are still available for both events.
