Ryan Gosling, Da’Vine Joy Randolph among 36 first-time nominees at 2024 Emmy Awards

0

Every year, the Emmy nominations prove to be a mix of perennial favorites (we meet again, Jennifer Aniston and Jon Hamm) and first-time nominees. The crop of 2024 contenders is no exception. In fact, a whopping 36 performers received their inaugural Primetime Emmy bids on Wednesday, July 17. Among the dozens of stars who’ve just been welcomed into the Emmy club are recent Oscar contenders Ryan Gosling (“Saturday Night Live”), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“Only Murders in the Building”) and Lily Gladstone (“Under the Bridge”). Scroll down to see the complete list of first-time nominees at the 2024 Emmy Awards.

Special mention goes to the never-aging movie star Paul Rudd, who is up for his first two Emmy nominations ever: Best Comedy Supporting Actor for “Only Murders in the Building” and Best Narrator for “Secrets of the Octopus.”

FX’s historical epic “Shogun” accounts for a whopping five first-time acting nominees: leads Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada, supporting players Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hira, and guest star Nestor Carbonell.

Netflix hit “Baby Reindeer” only submitted four actors on the ballot, and all four received Emmy bids today for the first time in their careers: lead Richard Gadd and supporting stars Jessica Gunning, Nava Mau and Tom Goodman-Hill.

“The Morning Show,” Apple TV+’s popular drama about an A.M. news broadcast, is responsible for three Emmy newbies: Nicole Beharie, Greta Lee and Karen Pittman. And they’re all competing against each other in the Best Drama Supporting Actress race.

And both of the lead performers from FX’s biographical story “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” woke up to the news that they are now Emmy nominees: Naomi Watts and Tom Hollander.
