Cooling centers open in Kinderhook, Chatham
COLUMBIA COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After a night of heavy storms, the summer heat continues to be a factor as thousands face power outages throughout the region. The Columbia County Emergency Management Office announced that two cooling centers will be opening to the public on Wednesday in Kinderhook and Chatham.
The Niverville Fire District will be hosting a cooling center at the Village of Kinderhook Fire Station located at 39 Chatham Street until 2 p.m. The second center will be open at the Chatham Town Hall at 488 State Route 295 until 4:30 p.m.
