US leads nearly 200 operations against ISIS in six months
Central Command of the United States (CENTCOM) has announced that it has led 196 operations against ISIS in Syria and Iraq in the first half of this calendar year.
This command unit, one of eleven combatant commands under the U.S. Department of Defense, reported that these operations resulted in the killing of at least 44 ISIS members, including 8 senior commanders.
All of these attacks were conducted in Iraq and Syria, and in addition to the elimination of 8 ISIS commanders, 166 members of the group, including 32 senior figures, were captured as a result of these operations.
CENTCOM’s entire campaign against ISIS has been carried out in Iraq and Syria. Of these, 137 operations took place in Iraq in collaboration with the international anti-ISIS coalition and the Iraqi army, while 59 operations were conducted in Syria in cooperation with the international anti-ISIS coalition and Syrian Democratic Forces.
As a result of these efforts, CENTCOM continues to lead the charge in countering ISIS activities in the region, aiming to stabilize and secure areas previously under the group’s control.
Meanwhile, CENTCOM’s efforts against ISIS in Iraq and Syria during the first half of this year have been robust, resulting in significant losses for the terrorist organization.
The elimination of key ISIS commanders and the capture of numerous operatives underscore the effectiveness of coordinated international efforts in combating terrorism.
However, despite these achievements, the threat posed by ISIS remains potent and continues to evolve.
Recent reports indicate an uptick in ISIS activities across the region, highlighting the ongoing challenge of eradicating extremism and maintaining regional stability.
Vigilance and sustained international cooperation will be crucial in effectively addressing these persistent security threats.
