A CASHIER mistake meant a massive score for one very lucky thrifter who had the keen eye to spot a bargain.

They spent just $12.51 on the piece of jewelry — but suspected a misplaced decimal point after getting it appraised.

The money-savvy shopper shared a photo of the necklace on Reddit’s ThirftStoreHauls forum.

GLORIOUS GOLD

They admitted to not knowing what the “LGL 10kt” stamped on it meant but gladly paid $12.51.

“I couldn’t pass it up!” they said, writing under the handle Pumpkinhead82.

The necklace with a bold red jewel was sold with a pair of matching earrings.

In an update, the shopper revealed they decided to check if the items were valuable.

“I took it to a jeweler and found out that the gold, diamonds, and rubies are all real!” they said.

“This is the necklace after a cleaning.”

The jewelry looked almost new as it sparkled in the photo.

“A man at the pawnshop verified the diamonds and gold,” they said.

“The jeweler verified the rubies. Just local businesses near me.”

THE PERFECT PRICE

Hundreds of people upvoted the post and confessed they were stunned the Redditor paid such a low price.

“Maybe the price was supposed to be $1,251 but the cashier messed up! [laughing],” one person said.

“That’s what I thought at first as well!” the Redditor replied.

“This thrift store doesn’t like to use periods in their prices, so I believe she rang it up correctly.”

What does LGL 10kt mean?

According to Jewelers Mutual, 10K or 10KT is stamped on items that are 10 parts gold and 14 parts other metals.

Jewelry with the stamp is usually “affordable” and has an identifiable pale yellow color.

“Congrats, it’s always nice to score some real gems,” a commenter said.

“That is absolutely amazing! You lucked out big time!” another wrote.

“Great eye!!! Congratulations on the awesome find!!!” a fourth chimed in.

The thrift store find comes after another Redditor paid just 34 cents for luxury jewelry at a yard sale.

They used a magnet to check that the Tiffany & Co. earrings were real silver.

Further research revealed they were worth up to $430.
