EastEnders legend risks wrath of mum shamers as she reveals controversial parenting decision
EASTENDERS star Louisa Lytton has opened up about the difficult situation to go on holiday without her daughter.
The 35-year-old risked the wrath of mum shamers as she jetted off to Italy with her husband Ben Bhanvra – leaving Aura, two, at home.
Sharing a video of herself playing with Aura, Louisa told her followers why she ‘needed’ to go on a break without her.
“All I’ve been asked since I got back from Italy was how was it being away from Aura?” she wrote.
“The truth- Ben and I were in need of time just us two. To simply be able to hold a conversation without being shouted at every second. (Aura) Away from chores and just any outside source other than us.”
She continued: “The trip seemed excessive 5 whole days away? I hadn’t done this since I was on tour (but somehow that felt different because I needed to work) this time felt like I was being selfish for taking myself away from her to simply enjoy myself. (It was still work but obviously very different) Anyway we went for it.
“I spent the WHOLE time wishing she was with us, looking at everything that she would love. Buying her silly little things she didn’t need. And missing the ‘Mummy, mummy x 5000 that I hear every day.”
Admitting she did miss her daughter, she added: “Did I feel guilty? ABSOLUTELY but I also feel guilty if I eat a snack she might like when she’s in bed it will always be there right?!?!”
Her post resonated with her followers and famous friends who rushed to comment on it.
Daisy Wood Davis commented: “This is exactly how I would feel. Ace was away from me over the weekend when I wasn’t well & even though he’d driven me to insanity in the week I missed him the whole time and felt like a part of me was gone!”
