S&P/TSX composite up almost 250 points Tuesday, U.S. markets also rise

After months of record-breaking gains led mainly by large tech stocks in the U.S., it was the blue-chip heavy Dow’s turn to lead a broad-based surge. The index gained 1.9 per cent.
