PHOTOS: Portland homicide 'person of interest' sought by police
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police released photos of someone they said is a "person of interest" in connection to a homicide that happened last fall.
The fatal stabbing of Tiara Atencio on October 19 happened in Southeast Portland. Officers responded near Southeast Powell Boulevard in the South Tabor neighborhood late that evening where they found a woman, later identified as Atencio, with serious injuries. Though she was taken to the hospital by ambulance, she later died.
The photos of the person of interest in the case, whose name has not yet been identified, are from a TriMet bus. However, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement "the homicide itself did not occur on a TriMet bus."
Anyone with information about the identity of the person of interest is urged to contact police.
