4 Indian soldiers killed in armed attack in Jammu and Kashmir

The Indian Army announced on Tuesday that four soldiers of the country were killed in an attack by armed individuals in Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian officials say the ambush occurred unexpectedly on Monday against Indian infantry forces in the forests of the Doda region.

According to Indian authorities, with the shift of militant activities from the Kashmir Valley to the Jammu region, the number of soldiers killed this year has risen to 11.

The Indian Ministry of Defence also reported last week that at least five Indian soldiers were killed in an attack on an army convoy in the Katora area of Jammu and Kashmir.

India and Pakistan both claim the Kashmir Himalayan region, and New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting insurgents in the area. Pakistan has repeatedly denied these allegations.
