2024 Perseids meteor showers: What is it? When, where and how can you watch it?

The Perseids meteor showers are caused by Earth passing through debris, full of bits of ice and rock, left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle which last passed close to Earth in 1992. It is at its highest when the Earth passes through the densest and dustiest area on August 11-12.
