Queen’s Park have added to their playing squad ahead of tonight's Premier Sports Cup Group C game at Hibernian with experienced defender Cammy Kerr coming on board on a one-year contract with an option to be extended further.
The 28-year-old is best known for a long stint at Dundee where his senior career began as a substitute against Hibs in the final Premier league game of 2012-13. Cammy, who gained first team game time in two loan spells at Peterhead in the early stages of his career, went onto establish himself as the first choice right back at the Dark Blues, captain the side and receive a Testimonial from the Dens Park club last season.
After 12 first team appearances in season 2023/ 24 Cammy moved on loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle where he played 15 times including two appearances against The Spiders.
Callum Davidson, who plans to have Cammy in his squad for the trip to Edinburgh, said: “I am delighted to bring in a player with over 300 first team games under his belt. A large portion of Cammy’s career was spent in the top-flight and the experience he possesses will be a great asset to us.”
Queen’s Park’s Director of Football Darren O’Donnell added: “I am delighted to bring another of Callum’s targets on board. As Callum has said Cammy has a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the Scottish game which we know will help our team.
“Cammy’s experience will support our younger players progress further at the club. We want to build a team that supports the club’s ambitions and Cammy is player that we know will do just that.”
