US News names best hospitals in Capital Region for 2024-25
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-25 Best Hospitals rankings on July 16. For the 11th year in a row, the publication named St. Peter's Hospital the best in the Albany area.
For the 2024-25 rankings, U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide in more than 30 medical and surgical services. The hospitals were evaluated on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care.
St. Peter's was also ranked the 15th best hospital in New York overall. St. Peter's Hospital was ranked high performing in:
- Colon Cancer Surgery
- Lung Cancer Surgery
- Prostate Cancer Surgery
- Heart Attack
- Aortic Valve Surgery
- Heart Bypass Surgery
- Heart Failure
- Kidney Failure
- Hip Replacement
- Knee Replacement
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Pneumonia
In the Capital Region, Albany Medical Center was ranked second and was high performing in 11 procedures and conditions. The other hospitals in the Albany area went unranked by U.S. News. You can view the full national rankings on the U.S. News website.
