The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, on behalf of the State Government, launched the newly built Iraye-Oke Primary Health Centre, facilitated by Hon. Wale Raji representing Epe Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. The Health Centre, which was completed in 2023, became operational on Monday following its staffing by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

In her address during the ceremony, Dr. Adeleke described the event as a timely intervention for the residents of the area and the state. She said, “The launch of this health centre, coming at a time when Lagos is contending with cholera cases, couldn’t be more timely. Together, we strive to ensure no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare”.

She outlined the services offered at the centre, including card registration, child delivery, blood pressure checks, immunisation, family planning and health education.

In his remarks, Hon. Raji thanked the Lagos State government for providing the necessary medical staff and resources crucial for the centre’s operation. He also expressed gratitude to Eredo LCDA residents for their continuous support since 2015, promising to facilitate more developmental projects for the benefit of the residents.

The lawmaker praised the Eredo LCDA Chairman for his outstanding efforts, which contributed to the project’s success and community well-being, stressing the importance of community support and the proper use of the new health centre for a healthier future.

The Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye pledged his support for the health and well-being of community members. He highlighted the facilitation of the health centre by Hon. Raji and the cooperation from the LCDA as evidence of the council’s commitment to multi-sectoral collaboration in providing essential health services.

Applauding Hon. Raji for the gesture and other past interventions that have immensely benefited the Eredo Community and its environs, the Council Chairman emphasised that the new Health Centre marks a significant advancement for the community, improving access to essential healthcare services for Iraye-Oke residents and surrounding areas in Eredo LCDA and Epe LGA.

He, therefore, urged residents to take ownership of the facilities, emphasising the need to take proper care of the centre and ensure its effective use for long-term benefits.
