‘So transparent’ say Love Island fans who work out ‘reason’ Joey Essex kicked off – and it’s down to bombshell Lolly

LOVE Island fans think they’ve worked out the ‘real reason’ Joey Essex kicked off following the Snog, Marry, Pie game.

The iconic game returned in last night’s Love Island and Joey raised eyebrows by choosing to lock lips with Nicole Samuel, who is coupled up with Ciaran Davies.

Joey and Ciaran clashed afterwards with the Welsh hunk questioning why the former Towie star didn’t pick to snog Jessy Potts – who he is coupled up with – and marry Nicole instead.

And viewers reckon it’s all down to bombshell Lolly Hart telling Joey he’s calmed down since being coupled up with Jessy.

Writing on social media, one said: “Lolly said on her date with Joey that he seems to be a shadow of his former self now he’s with Jessy.

“I think that got in his head and he’s decided to kick off every moment he possibly could.”

Referencing Joey’s row with Grace Jackson during Game, Set, Match, they continued: “The Grace stuff came out of left field yesterday.

“I think he took the docile comment from Lolly very personally and is gonna take every opportunity to make a scene for the rest of the season.”

Agreeing, someone replied: “There isn’t a sincere bone in Joey’s body.

“He’s an actor. Everything he’s been doing is to stir the pot and get more camera time.”

Fans also think they spotted a moment that proved he isn’t over ex-girlfriend Grace Jackson.

Bombshell Josh Oyinsan chose to kiss Grace – with Joey seen jumping up and down looking shocked.

One fan wrote on social media: “Joey’s face. and he keeps saying that Grace is the one who has feelings for him yeah bye.”

Another said: “Joey is jelly.”

Love Island series 11 - feuds in the villa

No edition of Love Island is complete without its fair share of drama - and series 11 is no different. Here's a look at some of the most fiery feuds so far.

  • Joey Essex & Samantha Kenny: Samantha entered the villa on Day 1 and was initially coupled with Sam Taylor. However, Samantha was ‘stolen’ by Joey, the first bombshell of series 11. She was ‘dumped’ on Day 16 – with the make-up artist saying she had been brutally snubbed by Joey in the villa – although it never made it to air.
  • Matilda Draper & Jess White: While Matilda arrived as a bombshell on Day 12, Jess was part of the original line-up. The two clashed in Casa Amor, over Jess’ frustration that Matilda was talking to new hunk Hugo Godfroy – who Jess previously snogged.
  • Harriet Blackmore & Jess White: The two women were caught up in a love triangle for much of their time on the programme. The pair were fighting over Ronnie Vint, 27, from Greenwich, who wound up being dumped alongside Harriett.
