This is Chapter 16/Section 2 ("The History"), of the 2024 Serialization of the Second Edition (2013) of the book by Steven Jonas: "The 15% Solution: How the Republican Religious Right Took Control of the U.S., 1981-2022." The book was first published in 1996. The 2nd Edition is available in Kindle on Amazon. A third, printed edition, of the book is currently in preparation and should be in publication sometime this month.
