Celtic Have Mentor Angle In Mind For Incoming Bhoys
Celtic are keen to see two of their incoming signings combine in the mentor and pupil role, according to Sky Sports News.
Brendan Rodgers has been looking to bolster his goalkeeping department following the retirement of Joe Hart at the end of last season.
Celtic are moving to bring in free agent Kasper Schmeichel, who is set to serve as their number 1 next season.
The Bhoys though are also bringing in Finland international Viljami Sinisalo, who is poised to join from Aston Villa for a fee of around £1m.
And it is claimed that Celtic want the 22-year-old to be mentored by Schmeichel.
They feel that Sinisalo can learn much from veteran shot-stopper Schmeichel and want him to soak in the Dane’s experience.
Sinisalo will be signing a long term contract with Celtic in a sign of the club’s trust in him.
The goalkeeper has had three loan spells away from Aston Villa, at Ayr United, Burton Albion and, last season, Exeter City in England’s League One.
