The lights are powered by a simple solar panel and will illuminate your outside space with a warm white glow for up to eight hours.

Glowing reviews of the Tesco lights include one customer who said: “They were so easy to place over the plants and look so pretty once they light up.”

Another added: “They look magical in my garden.”

A third said: “Great lights well worth the money they light up great.”

On social media shoppers were quick to encourage friends to check their local stores.

One said: “If your out and about and see them can you pick me up four packs please.”

Another added: “Let me know if you see these on offer please.”

On Tesco’s website the 9.9m, 100-light string remains listed at £5, but a shoppers posting to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains having found them discounted in store.

Argos is selling a similar set of lights for £6, while Sainsbury’s is offering a set for £9 and Wilko for £12.99.

The price reduction is probably due to stock clearance, so it’s always a good idea to phone ahead to make sure your local store actually has the item and confirm what price they’re selling at.

Remember to always shop around for the best deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web.

Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers.

All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.

There are plenty of other bargains to be found at Tesco.

Shoppers flocked to the supermarket to pick up Yankee Candles with up to 50% off.

The supermarket is also offering large tubs of both Roses and Heroes for £4.50, with a Tesco Clubcard, and shoppers have said it’s the perfect time for the deal.

What can I get with Tesco Clubcard?

TESCO'S Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop.

These points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food at the supermarket, or discounts at other places like restaurants and days out.

Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your Clubcard.

Drivers using the loyalty card get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 money-off voucher, for example.

You can double their worth when you swap them for discounts with “reward partners”.

For example, £12 worth of vouchers can be swapped for a £24 three-month subscription to Disney+.

Or you can swap 50p worth of points for £1 to spend at Hungry Horse pubs.

Where you can spend them changes regularly, and you can check on the Tesco website what’s available now.

Tesco shoppers can also get Clubcard prices when they have the loyalty card.

The discounted items change regularly and without a Clubcard you’ll pay a higher price.

These Clubcard prices are usually labelled on shelves, along with the non-member price.

But it’s worth noting that just because it’s discounted doesn’t necessarily make it the cheapest around, and you should compare prices to find the best deal.

You can sign up to get a Tesco Clubcard in store or online via the Tesco website.
