Police identify motorcycle crash victim killed in central Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN)— The Austin Police Department identified Monday a motorcycle victim killed in a crash last week at East 45th Street and Duval Street.

Gordon Yang, 45, was the cyclist who died in the crash, APD said in the release. Police said the crash happened just after 11 p.m. on July 9.

Police said only Yang was involved in the crash. Yang was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, APD said in the release.

This is Austin's 42nd fatal crash of the year, the release said. Forty-four fatalities have occurred due to these crashes.
