Coeymans man charged for alleged insurance fraud
COEYMANS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Coeymans Police arrested a Coeymans resident for allegedly lying about his ATV being stolen to collect insurance on it. Bradley Bogardus, 31, faces multiple charges.
Charges
- Third-degree insurance fraud
- Falsely reporting an incident
- Falsifying business records and providing a false written statement
Bogardus allegedly reported his ATV, valued at $20,000, stolen in March of 2023. Police say Bogardus actually sold the ATV to another and tried to collect insurance on the machine when pretending it was stolen.
Bogardus was released after being issued appearance tickets in the Town of Coeymans Court.
