Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes spark rumors they’re back on at Copa America finale as fans beg ‘let it go!’
CAMILA Cabello and Shawn Mendes have fans convinced they’ve rekindled their romance after they were spotted together at the Copa America game.
The exes – who dated from 2019 to 2021 – appear to have found their way back to each other, but fans aren’t happy about them potentially dating again.
A video surfaced on Sunday of Camila, 27, and Shawn, 25, watching the Argentina vs. Colombia Copa America game at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
However, fans hoped the sighting didn’t mean the former couple had gotten back together and made that clear in a slew of social media posts.
“Imagine how tired we are… they need to let it go,” one person wrote on X.
“STAY AWAY FROM HER,” warned another.
“I thought they gave up on pretending this was a thing,” a third said.
“I need to know their tea so bad bc when u see a ‘yo-yo’ couple like this there’s usually the one who is really toxic and keeps messing up + luring the ‘victim’ back and the one that is trying their best and trying to get over their ex but they’re hooked and just can’t resist it,” a fourth added.
“Oh my gosh they are on and off all the time,” a fifth noted.
“GET OUT CAMILA THIS IS NOT YOU,” urged a sixth.
Others defended the pair’s closeness and commended them for staying friends after their breakup.
“The fact that they are still friends shows their maturity and that there’s no bad blood… i respect it,” someone commented.
“They’re still friends though, but they were genuinely such a sweet couple,” a second remarked.
Camila and Shawn first met in 2014 when they opened for Austin Mahone, although their friendship didn’t turn romantic until years later.
They went public with their relationship in the summer of 2019 and often showcased their feelings with PDA and frequent public outings together.
Things eventually went south and the twosome parted ways in November 2021, in which they revealed they’d split in a joint Instagram post.
Despite no longer dating, Camila and Shawn remained friends, which the Wonder singer reiterated during an On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview in April 2022.
“[We’re] so friendly. I mean, I loved Camila first for so many years and that’s never gonna change,” Shawn said.
There were talks that the singers were giving their relationship another try after they were spotted kissing at Coachella in April 2023.
“They have been friendly for several months and hung out. They always seemed to have a special connection,” a source told People about their tight bond at the time.
Camila was last linked to 33-year-old Austin Kevitch, co-founder and CEO of Lox Club, with whom she first sparked dating rumors in August 2022.
However, they appeared to have parted ways, according to a February 2023 newsletter sent to Austin’s dating app, which noted his single status.
Meanwhile, Shawn was rumored to be dating his longtime chiropractor, Dr. Jocelyne Miranda, 51.
The pair have been spotted on numerous outings together in recent months, leading fans to believe their relationship is more than professional.
Neither Shawn nor Miranda have commented on the rumors, though sources have come forward saying they’re false.
