The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations announced the expulsion of nearly two thousand Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan, continuing the trend of deportations.

On Monday, July 15th, the ministry issued a newsletter stating that a total of 1,614 Afghan migrants were expelled from Iran and Pakistan in a single day.

According to the ministry’s newsletter, those expelled entered the country through border crossings, including Torghundi, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala-Herat, and the Nimroz-Iran border on July 14.

Based on information from border authorities in the mentioned provinces, 34 families comprising 184 individuals returned home from Pakistan, while 1,430 residents from Iran returned via the Nimroz-Iran Silk Road bridge.

Recently, Pakistan and Iran have accelerated the expulsion of Afghan migrants who do not possess legal residence documents in these countries.

Recently, Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Prize laureate, urged her country to halt the deportation of Afghan migrants from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the rapid expulsion of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan underscores ongoing challenges and humanitarian concerns, urging international attention and efforts towards protecting vulnerable populations.
