Explosion reported in Badghis province, Afghanistan

Local authorities in Badghis province have confirmed an explosion in Qala-e-Naw, the provincial capital, stating that no casualties resulted from the incident.

The security command of the Taliban in Badghis issued a statement reporting that the suspicious firing of a rocket caused today’s explosion, Monday, July 15th.

According to the statement, an unidentified individual launched the rocket near the provincial hospital in Qala-e-Naw, within the jurisdiction of the first security district.

The security command further asserted that no injuries occurred as a result of the explosion, and the perpetrator fled the scene.
