Wyden set for live interview Sunday on KOIN

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden is scheduled for a live interview Sunday during KOIN 6 News at 5 with Lisa Balick.

This interview will come one day after an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump and just one day before the Republican convention begins in Milwaukee.

In a statement Saturday, Wyden said the "shooting in Pennsylvania underlines clearly the danger of normalizing political violence."

It's expected Wyden will answer questions about this, the Biden campaign's recent struggles, his request that Attorney General Merrick Garland appoint a special counsel to investigate Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, wildfire season in Oregon and other topics.

Wyden is also holding a series of town halls across Oregon.
