Tripura: Shutdown against CPI-M Zilla Parishad candidate's murder evokes little response
The 12-hour shutdown called by Left parties in Tripura to protest the death of CPI-M candidate Badal Shil did not receive a significant response, with shops and markets remaining open and vehicles operating normally. Police reported no untoward incidents during the shutdown. CPI-M members and leaders held condolence rallies for the slain leader, while opposition Congress supported the shutdown. The situation remains calm with a heavy police presence in sensitive areas amidst preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections.
